Sir Walter & Sandra Scott passionately embrace their calling to retreat ministry. In planning, coordinating, and conducting retreats as a ministry team in the Army Chaplaincy for 26 years, they witnessed the wonderful transforming power of a "getaway with God." They planned and conducted many retreats for families, couples, and youth; and always utilized their creative talents in music and drama to add fun and variety to the sessions. Their deeply-rooted dedication to and love for Christian ministry keep them motivated to serve their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In July 2002, they incorporated Retreat to His Presence Ministries to provide restoration for people's lives. They served as Pastor and Musician for the Bethany Beach Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Delaware. Sir Walter was also the Camp Manager for the Christian Church Camp and Conference Center in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The couple currently provides pulpit supply (substitute preaching) and music for various congregations during their transition from Delaware to Virginia.

Dr. Sir Walter Scott, Jr. is a native of North Carolina.  He received his BA degree from Barton College, Wilson, NC, and the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas.  He retired from the Army as a Chaplain (Colonel) in June 2003.  In July 2009 he completed the requirements for his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio, with an emphasis in Formational Counseling and Prayer. Sir Walter enjoys traveling, cooking, and serving others with joyful hospitality.

Sandra (Hayes) Scott is a native of North Carolina.  She received her BA in Visual Communication from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC and the Master of Communication from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA.  Sandra has attended conferences and received training in Formational Prayer at Ashland's Institute of Formational Counseling. She is a conference speaker, retreat planner, workshop facilitator, editor and musician. Sandra has begun her own home-based business, A Swift Upper Lift Graphic Design, currently focusing on custom designed t-shirts (website to follow). She enjoys landscaping, indoor gardening, and creating beautifully decorated interior spaces for people to enjoy, happily brushing the walls with faux painting techniques.
